LINDA ROBSON
Mrs Linda Robson My name is Linda Robson I have worked for the NHS in primary care mainly GP practices for over 40 years and still loving my job I spent my younger working life in Barrow in Furness where I was born. I joined a Practice as a receptionist and really worked hard to learn everything I could. It was no great task as I loved what I was doing. Later years I took promotion and worked as Practice Manager until the Practice was dissolved. I then did a bit of work outside of the NHS but not for long it was where my heart was with the NHS. For a while I was lucky enough to pull together a Palliative care home team and I was very proud of this work. I joined Kirkby Lonsdale surgery in 2009 as assistant manager and this role led me into Case management and social prescribing the 2 roles I am doing now and have been for quite some time. Care plan The Care Navigator role takes me to see people in their own homes and I carry out a holistic health and social care assessment. I will with patents and families develop a personalised care plan to support self care. I can signpost folk to access Local services and resources to make life easier. My role wants to promote living independently as possible also to enhance the care they receive The role of Social prescriber in its self is very similar to Care Navigation the difference being It allows more time to spend with people . The role is aimed at 16 years and over to help people connect to local community groups and agencies for practical and emotional support. The role gives people time to think about what matters to them and build up trust to move forward to make for a better way of life.
